A Tribute to Miki Ohashi (1974 – 2007)

Miki Ohashi from Japan, passed away during a tragic scrambling accident in the Rocky Mountains, Alberta, Canada on October 16th, 2007.

She was a good friend and together we participated in many mountain activities during 2006 and 2007. I consider it a privilege to have had the opportunity to have met Miki and experience the great outdoors with her.
I first met Miki during a group scrambling trip on
the 18th July, 2006. Since then we shared in more adventures together consisting of scrambling, snowshoeing, camping and hiking.
Miki was passionate about the outdoors and loved the mountains. She was also a superb cook, and hugely caring and kind person. Her enthusiasm and commitment in exploring the Canadian Rockies often overflowed onto others, encouraging them also to push themselves further.

I will miss Miki's friendship as will all of her friends and family. She died doing what she loved.
I have great memories and a huge respect for my friend. I will sincerely miss her.
